The State Emergency Operation Centre of Himachal Pradesh said Moderate rain continued leading to the cause of closure of 42 roads including 18 roads in Shimla, 17 in Mandi, three in Kangra and two each in Kinnaur and Kullu districts were closed.And 121 transformers and 48 water supply schemes were also disrupted. Nadaun received 34.5 mm rainfall in a 24-hour period, followed by Wangtoo (32.8 mm), Aghar (21.4 mm), Bhoranj (16 mm), Kasauli (15 mm), Nahan (13 mm), Kothi (12.6 mm), Jogindernagar (10 mm), Kheri and Bharmaur (8 mm each) and Shimla (4.4 mm). The Met office in Shimla has issued a 'yellow' warning for heavy rain, thunderstorms and lightning at isolated places on Thursday and Friday and predicted a wet spell till July 15. It also cautioned of damage to plantation, horticulture and standing crops, partial damage to vulnerable structures, minor damage to kutcha houses and huts due to strong winds and rain, disruption in traffic and waterlogging in low-lying areas.

A herd of buffaloes on Tuesday were present inside a pond to which they go to daily in Morena district according to the information. The incident occurred in a pond near Kheri Wala Hanuman temple of Gajadhar Ka Pura village in Tentara Gram Panchayat of Morena district. However, while they were inside the pond it was raining heavily. At the same time, lightning struck in the sky with thunder and fell on the buffaloes. Due to this incident, all the 13 buffaloes present in the pond died in agony. As soon as the lightning struck with a loud sound, the people of the village also got scared and rushed to the pond to save the cattles. But, by the time they reached, all of them had already died. Later, they took out the bodies of all the buffaloes from the pond.

A Multi-utility vehicle (MUV) collided with a tree in the wee hours of Wednesday in Narmadapuram district of Madhya Pradesh Five people in their twenties were killed and six others injured , a police official said The victims were returning to Pipariya town in the district after attending a marriage function in Sadia village when the accident occured near Pachlavara village. The deceased were identified as Sovit Rajput (20), Aman Malviya (21), Pradumya Agrawal (22), Mayank Chourasia (22) and Shreyansh Jain (23), Pipariya police station's Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) Ganesh Rai said.

A double-decker sleeper bus hit a milk tanker on the Agra-Lucknow Expressway on Wednesday during which eighteen people died and 19 were injured, The accident took place around 5 am near Jojikot village in Behta Mujhawar police station area. District Magistrate Gaurang Rathi said prima facie the bus, which was on its way to Delhi from Motihari in Bihar, was speeding and hit the milk tanker from behind, a probe has been launched into the matter, he said. Bangarmau Circle Officer (CO) Arvind Kumar said due to the impact of the collision, both the bus and milk tanker overturned. Drivers of the two vehicles were among the dead. He said the injured were rushed to a hospital and their condition was stated to be stable.

The incident took place in Navandgi village in Basheerabad mandal of Vikarabad district, an official of Government Railway Police (GRP) said on Tuesday. The man P Yellappa, (40), a daily wage labourer was presumed dead after his family members were informed about his death when a body was found with a mobile phone on it. The GRP personnel found the body of an unidentified person on the tracks at Vikarabad railway station on June 22 night, with the head crushed and beyond recognition, the official said. One mobile phone was found near the body and police officials called up the family members from the phone, who informed that it belonged to Yellappa. As the family and relatives were making arrangements for the burial, some villagers informed them in the afternoon that they had seen Yellappa alive in Tandur town of the district. In the meanwhile, Yellappa also returned home to the surprise of the family members.

Shiladitya Chetia, who was serving as Secretary, home and political department, in the Assam government, died by suicide on Tuesday in Guwahati only "10 minutes" after his wife breathed her last at ICU of a hospital following a prolonged illness. A report by The Print quoted Dr Hitesh Baruah, director of the Nemcare Super Specialty hospital in Guwahati as saying that Chetia took his life, only “ten minutes” after his wife died at the isolated ICU of the hospital. Baruah said Chetia's wife was battling terminal brain cancer for the past few months. As per NDTV report, she was in the fourth stage of carcinoma and was undergoing treatment. Chetia was on leave for the last four months to take care of his wife who was 43, a year younger than him.
