During the battle, Ukraine launched HIMARS, a weapon supplied by the United States, into Russia. According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, American-made HIMARS were fired on Saturday at Belgorod, Russia. The Russian Defense Ministry made these claims in response to complaints from the local community of explosions in Belgorod. On June 1, a number of residents reported witnessing around 40 explosions throughout the city in the course of 15 minutes. The Ukrainian government, meanwhile, has not yet responded to Russia's allegations.
