Gold prices in India fell below Rs 70,000 per 10 grams on July 26. This rate includes the premium for the highest purity gold, 24 carat gold is priced at Rs 69,940 per 10 grams. For those interested in jewellery, 22 carat gold, which is more durable due to its light alloy mix, was priced at Rs 64,140 per 10 grams.

BJP has appointed Dilip Jaiswal as the president of Bihar unit in place of Samrat Chaudhary. Jaiswal, a three-time MLC and Revenue Minister, is from Khagaria and belongs to the Vaishya community. This is the fourth time after Chaudhary, Sanjay Jaiswal, and Nityanand Rai that the BJP has chosen a backward leader for this role.

Agniveer Ishmeet Singh alias Ishu and two others were arrested for vehicle snatching.  Recovered items include one stolen car, one motorcycle, one scooter, a country-made pistol with two live cartridges, and two stolen mobile phones.
