A24-year-old man impersonating a senior citizen bound for Canada was detained by the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport. The passenger, identified as Guru Sewak Singh, was intercepted on Tuesday evening at Terminal-3. According to a senior CISF officer, Singh had dyed his hair and beard white and donned spectacles to appear significantly older. He presented a passport under the name Rashvindar Singh Sahota, which claimed he was 67. CISF personnel became suspicious due to discrepancies between Singh's appearance and the age stated on his passport. "The man’s appearance, voice, and skin texture seemed significantly younger than the details provided in the passport. Closer observation revealed that he had dyed his hair and beard white and was wearing glasses to appear older," said the officer. The revelation came after CISF officers found a photo of a passport bearing his real name on his mobile phone. Singh, who intended to board an Air Canada flight out of Delhi, was immediately handed over to the Delhi Police for further interrogation where he confessed. For forging his passport and impersonation, the passenger was handed over to Delhi Police for legal action.

Indulging in whisky is a leisurely affair, quite distinct from the time-sensitive nature of wine consumption. Unlike wine, there’s no rush to finish an opened whisky bottle within a set timeframe. Yet, a pertinent question arises: Does whisky have an expiration date, especially after you’ve poured your first dram and returned it to the confines of your bar cabinet? In brief, yes, whisky does have a shelf life after being opened, contingent on the level of liquid remaining in the bottle. The interaction of whisky with oxygen triggers oxidation, ultimately leading to its expiration. The volume of whisky in the bottle plays a crucial role, with a fuller bottle minimizing the ingress of oxygen, and preserving the spirit, whereas an emptier bottle increases the risk of oxidation. The longevity of an opened bottle of whisky is intricately tied to its fill level. If the bottle is at least half-full, the whisky remains enjoyable for one or two years. However, as the liquid depletes, with only a quarter or less remaining, the expiration clock accelerates to around six months, as per insights from The Tasting Table. Upon unsealing, the alcohol content can decrease due to ethanol evaporation, altering the taste profile. For example, the extended exposure of rich, peated scotch whiskies to air diminishes their intensity over time.

Microsoft is rolling out a new update for its Windows 11 operating system that allows users to send files, links and more from their PCs directly to their Android devices, as per 9To5Google. With this new feature, Microsoft will add an Android smartphone as a shortcut named ‘My Phone’ to the Windows 11 share menu. To use this new feature, users need to download a Link to Windows App on their Android devices and a Phone Link App on their PCs. By using both the applications on Phone and PC, the user needs to pair both devices. After pairing, your device will appear as a “My Phone” icon in the Windows share menu, allowing you to share content. This makes file sharing more convenient and faster than previous approaches since it adds Android sharing directly to the Windows share menu. As of now, Microsoft has rolled out this feature only for its Beta users. It’s still unclear when this feature will be available for all users.

India hit back at China Friday, calling the Dalai Lama a “revered religious leader” who was free to conduct his “religious and spiritual activities” in the country, after Beijing called the Tibetan leader a “political exile”, and not a “pure religious figure”. “The government of India’s position on His Holiness the Dalai Lama has been very clear and consistent. He is a revered religious leader and is deeply respected by the people of India. His Holiness is accorded due courtesies and freedom to conduct his religious and spiritual activities,” Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said at a regular press briefing. Earlier this week, a high-power bipartisan seven-member delegation from the US House of Representatives visited India and met with the Tibetan religious leader at his home in Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh. China opposed the visit and in a statement by its foreign ministry spokesperson Lin Jian Tuesday, said, “It’s known by all that the 14th Dalai Lama is not a pure religious figure, but a political exile engaged in anti-China separatist activities under the cloak of religion.”
