NASA aims to pioneer a lunar railway station, FLOAT, using magnetic levitation on a 3-layer flexible film track. The system, featuring unpowered magnetic robots, will operate autonomously, minimizing wear from lunar dust. Tracks will unroll directly onto the regolith, avoiding extensive on-site construction.
