A video is doing rounds on social media showing water dripping down the roof and the seats drenched. In the video, a woman could be heard saying, “Tell everyone in your college! Nobody should be travelling." X user posted/shared a video of the incident. According to a report in NDTV, several passengers complained about the leaking issue and slammed the Railways for the poor management. The Northern Railway took note of the incident and said that the leakage was due to "temporary blockage of pipes" and apologized for the inconvenience.

The Bombay High Court, expressing concern over the alarming number of daily deaths on the Mumbai Suburban railway system, said on Wednesday that it may establish a committee of experts to conduct a high-level study on the matter. A division bench of Chief Justice Devendra Upadhyaya and Justice Amit Borkar called for accountability at the highest level and stressed the need for effective solutions, rejecting the idea that the large number of commuters could be used as an excuse. “This time, we are going to make the officers accountable at the highest level. The situation here in Bombay is pathetic. You (Railways) can’t feel happy by proclaiming that you are commuting 35,00,000 people a day. You can’t also say that considering the number of passengers in Mumbai, you are doing a good job”, the bench said, as quoted by Live Law.

In a bizarre accident, a 60-year-old male passenger from Kerala died of injuries, after an upper berth allegedly ‘fell’ on him due to improper chaining by a fellow passenger. The victim Ali Khan CK was travelling to Agra with his friend in the sleeper coach of Ernakulam-Hazrat Nizamuddin Millennium Superfast Express with train number 12645, the Government Railway Police (GRP) said on Wednesday. The incident happened on June 16 when the train was passing through Telangana's Warangal district. Khan suffered neck injuries and was initially taken to a hospital in Ramagundam. Later, he was shifted to a hospital in Hyderabad where he died while undergoing treatment.

Passengers faced a mid air scare when a Korean Air plane experienced a dramatic drop of over 25,000 feet within 15 minutes. According to the reports, this sudden drop was due to a pressurization system malfunction which led to an emergency landing. The incident occurred on June 22, 2024, during flight KE189 from Seoul's Incheon International Airport (ICN) to Taichung International Airport (RMQ) in Taiwan. Upon the flight’s emergency landing in Taiwan's Taichung, 17 individuals were taken to medical facilities for evaluation. Fortunately, all were discharged without severe injuries, though they had experienced significant discomfort and anxiety during the ordeal. In response to the incident, Korean Air issued an apology to those affected. The airline assured passengers that it is fully cooperating with relevant authorities to investigate the malfunction.

A24-year-old man impersonating a senior citizen bound for Canada was detained by the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport. The passenger, identified as Guru Sewak Singh, was intercepted on Tuesday evening at Terminal-3. According to a senior CISF officer, Singh had dyed his hair and beard white and donned spectacles to appear significantly older. He presented a passport under the name Rashvindar Singh Sahota, which claimed he was 67. CISF personnel became suspicious due to discrepancies between Singh's appearance and the age stated on his passport. "The man’s appearance, voice, and skin texture seemed significantly younger than the details provided in the passport. Closer observation revealed that he had dyed his hair and beard white and was wearing glasses to appear older," said the officer. The revelation came after CISF officers found a photo of a passport bearing his real name on his mobile phone. Singh, who intended to board an Air Canada flight out of Delhi, was immediately handed over to the Delhi Police for further interrogation where he confessed. For forging his passport and impersonation, the passenger was handed over to Delhi Police for legal action.
