Metroidvanias and action-adventure platformers have seen a resurgence in recent years, with games like Ori and the Blind Forest, Hollow Knight, and Dead Cells bringing fresh ideas to the genre. Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, Ubisoft's latest game, assimilates elements from these games and subgenres to create a unique game experience. The game features save points from Dark Souls, air dashes and double jumps from Hollow Knight, and intricate Biome-based level design from Dead Cells. The Lost Crown is a Frankenstein monster with its Persian setting, high-wire platforming puzzles, and throwback dual swords. Despite its challenging nature, the game is not lean, taking around 18-20 hours to complete.
