They claimed that they were “lucky to be alive” as a result of the fire that ultimately claimed nearly everything they owned. “We are lucky to be alive,” Aiyda wrote on social media. “The Tesla charger caught on fire in the garage late last night and quickly spread. We got out of the house with nothing but the clothes on our back and no shoes on our feet.” Randall Cobb gave his own account of the harrowing experience as he offered his gratitude for to the firefighters who sprang into action. Led by billionaire Elon Musk, Tesla has become the most notorious and arguably the most prestigious electic car manufacturer in the United States over the past several years. But according to a social media post from an NFL star and his wife, it sounds like a malfunction in a Tesla’s charger nearly claimed their lives.
