A heartbroken and disappointed Indian wrestler Vinesh Phogat, announced her retirement from wrestling. She was disqualified and stripped of her medal for being 100gm overweight. On X, she wrote, "Wrestling won the match against me, I lost… Your dreams and my courage are shattered. Goodbye Wrestling 2001–2024. I will forever be indebted to all of you. Sorry".
