The Ministry of External Affairs termed the violent student protests in Bangladesh, which resulted in 39 deaths, as an "internal matter" of the country. They are assisting 8500 Indian students and 15000 citizens in Bangladesh, issuing advisories and providing a 24/7 helpline for safety and help.
